Beacon was founded by filmmaker and producer Sabour Bradley, but it has always been much bigger than one person. Beacon brings together writers, animators, musicians, educators, filmmakers and creatives from around the world, who share a common belief: children deserve high-quality Bahá’í stories. Today, Beacon is a growing international collaboration between talented people, who work together to create incredible songs, stories, series, games and experiences for families everywhere.
Beacon was created to make Bahá’í stories for kids. We looked around and saw a really clear need shared by parents and children around the world. While there were many wonderful individuals creating Bahá’í-inspired content, there was no central place where families could easily access high-quality stories about the Bahá’í Faith itself. Beacon was founded to change that, bringing together talented creatives from across the globe to create engaging films, series and musical experiences.
Not at all. Beacon is rooted in the Bahá’í Faith and many of our stories explore its history, teachings and values, but we welcome anyone who enjoys thoughtful, uplifting stories for kids. Our goal is to create content that inspires kindness, courage, generosity and service - values that resonate across cultures, backgrounds and beliefs. Whether you’re a Bahá’í family or simply looking for meaningful entertainment, you are welcome at Beacon.
Membership provides the foundation that allows Beacon to create new stories. Your financial support helps fund writers, animators, filmmakers, musicians and educators. It also covers the production costs required to bring high-quality content to life. Membership is more than a subscription, it’s a way for you to actively shape the creation of meaningful stories for kids and help build a sustainable future for Bahá’í media that can serve families for generations.
At this stage, Beacon content is available on YouTube, making it easy for families everywhere to watch and share our stories free of charge. We chose YouTube because it offers the greatest accessibility and reach, helping us connect with as many children and families as possible. As Beacon grows, members will also gain access to additional content, features and experiences through the Beacon platform.
Every show has a different status label (ie. Production, Development, etc). Some have only just started development, while others are completed projects.
Development: A show is in the early planning and shaping stage before it is filmed. No cameras are rolling yet. Instead, creators and studios are honing the concepts, writing notes, designing characters, and planning how the series will work.
Pre-production: This is the planning and preparation phase before any official recording begins. The creative team produces a script, proof-of-concept animatic, logistics, hiring, budgeting, and scheduling to make sure the actual shoot runs smoothly.
Production: This means the show is actively being made. The planning phase is over, and the crew is shooting or animating scenes, recording audio, or building/creating sets/worlds. It is the active physical creation stage before final editing.
Completed: When the site goes live the full series is ready for your viewing pleasure!
Beacon’s long-term vision is to become one of the homes of storytelling for children and families worldwide. We aim to build a sustainable, community-supported platform that creates films, series, games, music and content that children can grow up with for generations. Along the way, we hope to bring to life some of the most important stories from Bahá’í history, while creating world-class content that spreads light, inspires young hearts and reaches audiences far beyond the Bahá’í community.
Beacon is developing a wide range of content for children and families, including animated series, live-action shows, short films, documentaries, music, educational videos and interactive experiences. Some stories explore Bahá’í history and Holy Days, while others focus on virtues, friendship, service, family life and the everyday adventures of growing up. Our goal is to create content that is entertaining, meaningful and something the whole family can enjoy together.
All new content on Beacon goes through the Audio Visual oversight committee of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the United Kingdom. Beacon also has an Advisory Group made up of business and film and tv industry professionals from around the world who regularly consult on its direction and content.
